Hundreds Volunteer at InReach Summit to Combat Hunger and Support Texas Military Families
San Antonio, TX – [August 8, 2025] – More than 325 Sodexo volunteers came together in San Antonio last week for the annual InReach Summit, generating a powerful wave of community support through food donations, fundraising and hands-on service. Together, participants donated over 3,470 pounds of food and raised $11,825 to benefit the San Antonio Food Bank and communities in need.
The Summit brought together a diverse group of volunteers including InReach employees, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), Alliance members and supply partners. A highlight of the event included the assembly of 1,000 Readiness Bags for the Armed Services YMCA, providing critical support to military families, who are at higher risk of food insecurity. Each bag was filled with essential household items, serving as a gesture of thanks, bringing comfort and care to families who sacrifice so much for this nation.
The event was a collaborative effort between InReach, a convenience foodservice brand powered by Sodexo, and HONOR, Sodexo’s Employee Business Resource Group focused on veterans, military members, and their families. In a spontaneous show of generosity, Summit attendees raised $6,570 in just minutes to aid the Kerrville, TX community following devastating flooding.
An additional $5,255 was raised through a virtual fundraiser led by local Sodexo employees — proof that the spirit of giving extends far beyond the event itself. These funds were directed through Stop Hunger, Sodexo’s nonprofit foundation focused on ending hunger and food insecurity, to ensure immediate relief reached those who were impacted by the disaster — making sure help reached families who needed it most, right when they needed it.
“Our mission is simple—where we show up, we give back,” said Roxanne Moore, Executive Director of the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation. “Providing food aid and funding programs like this are central to our mission at Stop Hunger, and we couldn’t do it without the help of amazing volunteers.”
Thanks to a partnership with Move For Hunger, the event also recovered and donated 3,476 pounds of food, further widening the impact of the Summit and strengthening our strong commitment to sustainable hunger relief.
This year’s InReach Summit served as a powerful reminder that through collective action, communities can rise together to support those most in need — from flood victims to military families — and create lasting change.
